Privacy Policy
Private Value Management, L.P. (“PVMLP”) considers the protection of personal information to be one of the foundations of investor trust. It is our intention to ensure that personal information is safeguarded to protect against its misuse. To that end, we are providing you our Privacy Policy.
As part of PVMLP’s policy, PVMLP restricts access to information about its investors to those PVMLP employees who need to know that information in order to service investors. PVMLP maintains physical, electronic and procedural safeguards to comply with federal standards to guard its investors’ confidential information.
PVMLP collects nonpublic personal information from the following sources:
- Information PVMLP receives from investors in subscription documents or other related documents or forms, or through websites; and
- Information about investor transactions with PVMLP, its funds, affiliates and others.
Examples of such nonpublic personal information are an investor’s date of birth, social security number, Fund capital account values, sources and amounts of income, home addresses, telephone numbers and email address. PVMLP does not disclose any nonpublic personal information to anyone outside PVMLP and its service providers, except as permitted by law and regulation or otherwise agreed with its investors.
PVMLP may disclose nonpublic personal information to its affiliates and to nonaffiliated third party service providers and financial institutions that provide services to PVMLP for everyday business purposes such fund audit purposes, filing of Fund tax returns and K-1’s, responding to court orders and legal investigations, or as otherwise permitted by law. Our service providers are obliged to keep confidential the information we share about our investors and use it only to provide services specified by PVMLP.
PVMLP may use nonpublic personal information to ensure compliance with its obligations under applicable law, including disclosure to regulatory authorities and for PVMLP’s internal business purposes.
We treat information about former and prospective investors with the same care as we do information about current investors.
Information Collected through PVMLP’s Websites
Personally Identifiable Information
In addition to the foregoing, PVMLP and its online service providers may collect personally identifiable information through its websites, such as name, address, telephone number, e-mail address, or other similar information. Submission of such information is entirely voluntary. By submitting personally identifiable information on a website, website users consent to PMVLP’s us of such information in the manner described above, and further grant PVMLP the right to use and store personally identifiable information if PVMLP deems it reasonably necessary to protect the rights or property of PVMLP, its clients, investors in the funds PVMLP advises, a website, or users of its website (for example in response to a denial of service attack or the introduction of malicious software to the website).
Non-Personally Identifiable Information
When visitors enter any of PVMLP’s websites, PVMLP automatically collects information about their browser types and Internet Protocol (IP) addresses, as well as information that browsers send such as websites that might have been visited before a PVMLP website and the amount of time spend on those websites. PVMLP and its service providers use this type of information in the aggregate to monitor PVMLP’s websites, to improve website data and to customize visitors’ experience. By entering PVMLP’s websites, visitors consent to PVMLP’s collecting and using such information.
Cookies
PVMLP’s websites (including websites of its online service providers) may occasionally use a cookie to provide better service, to facilitate use of the website, to track usage of the website, and to address security hazards. A cookie is a small piece of information that a website stores on a visitor’s personal computer and which it can later retrieve. PVMLP and is online service providers may use cookies for administrative purposes, for example, to store visitors’ preferences for certain kind of information. None will contain information that enables anyone to contact visitors via telephone, e-mail or other means. If visitors to PVMLP’s websites are uncomfortable with the use of cookie technology, they can set their browsers to refuse cookies. Certain online services, however, could be dependent on cookies, and visitors may disable those services by refusing cookies.
